Review: Girls Go Racing: Driving to Esteems
Written by Johnathan Bodily
As you may have noticed we do product reviews infrequently here at Street Import Online. Let alone book reviews. When the co-author of the book Girls Go Racing: Driving to Esteems contacted us and asked if we would be interested in reviewing her work we gladly accepted.

How can you turn down an author who co-wrote a book about women involved in racing? On top of that is the fact that I have always wondered why women choose to get into racing. If you’d like the short version we can sum it up like this: Racing is fun, entertaining, challenging, and pushes us to extremes. If you’d like the long story that dives into the psychological aspects, gives some real good insight on women who have been in the racing scene from the beginning, or who our mothers, sisters, and daughters may be looking up to. I would strongly suggest that you pick up this great piece of work by these two talented ladies.
Girls go racing’s Preface could have been written for everyone to be honest with you. All you’ve got to do is replace “her” or “she” with “him” or “he” and it will hit home. Dani, and Susan walk you through the history of women in racing and give profiles of famous racers who coincidentally are female.
These include legendary female racers such as Denise McCluggage, Lyn St. James, Danica Patrick and many others. I found Girls go racing: Driving to Esteems to be an interesting read. It provided me with a good bit of insight that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.
If you like I have an interest in finding out what drives women to push limits, themselves, and others in this face paced, exciting sport pick up a copy of Girls go Racing at your local bookstore.
